  • UPEI has launched a new master's degree program as part of the Cleantech Academy in Georgetown, P.E.I. The university's senate approved the master of cleantech leadership and transformation program earlier this month.

The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) has introduced a new Master of Science in Clean Technology (MScCT) program, aimed at addressing the growing demand for expertise in sustainable technology. This program, which is the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada, focuses on preparing students for careers in clean energy, environmental management, and sustainable development. It integrates engineering, science, and business principles to foster innovation in clean technology. The curriculum includes courses on renewable energy systems, environmental impact assessments, and sustainable business practices, with opportunities for hands-on research and industry partnerships. The program not only seeks to equip students with the necessary skills to tackle climate change but also aims to contribute to the economic growth of the region by fostering a cleantech ecosystem.
