Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Corbin Burnes expressed strong disapproval of the New York Yankees' use of "torpedo" bats, which are designed to break more easily, following a 15-5 loss to the Yankees. Burnes criticized the bats for not only being a safety hazard due to flying debris but also for potentially skewing game statistics by allowing players to manipulate their performance metrics. He suggested that the league should reconsider allowing such equipment, highlighting the incident where a piece of a broken bat nearly hit a fan, emphasizing the need for player and fan safety.
