SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 28, 2009) - Kerio Technologies, an innovator in Internet security software since 1997, announces a new version of its award-winning Kerio WinRoute Firewall with the Kerio Web Filter and a web-based administration interface. Kerio WinRoute Firewall is a comprehensive security solution designed to help SMB organizations easily monitor and manage their network traffic and provide secure access to the Internet to their users.

The new Kerio Web Filter delivers an extra layer of security by blocking access to malicious sites that are infected or serve as malware distribution sites. Kerio Web Filter restricts access to any web site or web page that has not been analyzed and categorized.

"Many of the viruses, spyware, and Trojan horses today have intentionally short life spans and their authors like to spread them through distribution web sites rather than email. The short life span of viruses poses a true time challenge to anti-virus and anti-spyware vendors," says Scott Schreiman, CEO of Kerio Technologies. "We are introducing a malware category in the new Kerio Web Filter to help companies prevent employees from accidently visiting such web sites and avoid unintended drive-by downloads of malware."

Kerio Web Filter provides granular categorization of web sites into 53 categories. Combined with Kerio WinRoute Firewall's user-centric filter rules, organizations can develop and deploy a flexible, comprehensive Internet-use policy designed specifically for different groups of users or individuals. Managers and IT staff have immediate access to real-time data through the intuitive web-based reporting dashboard, Kerio StaR.

"Next to improved security, we find that our customers who deployed Kerio's new web filter also saw immediate gains in employee productivity," says David Denchik, Managing Partner, Triton Technical, a Kerio Certified Partner based in Seattle, Washington. "Our customers didn't believe how disruptive social networking sites, such as Facebook or Twitter, were for their business until we showed them reports and charts delivered by Kerio WinRoute Firewall."

Kerio WinRoute Firewall and Kerio Web Filter gives administrators a clear idea of what is going on in the network, along with the tools to share this information, restrict behavior, and protect the organization.

Kerio Administration Console allows administrators to quickly configure firewall policies through the new cross-browser Web Administration interface. The Web Administration works in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari browsers.

Kerio WinRoute Firewall ships with user management, gateway antivirus, VPN, bandwidth control, Internet link load balancer and gateway firewall. Kerio VPN Client is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Pricing and Availability

Kerio WinRoute Firewall 6.7 is available starting at $329 for ten users, or $395 with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus on August 1, 2009. Offered as an optional module, Kerio Web Filter retails for $150 for ten users. For more information on Kerio WinRoute Firewall, please visit: [ www.kerio.com/kwf ].
