Kerio Technologies, Inc.: Kerio MailServer Achieves VMware Ready Status
SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2009) - Kerio Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of award-winning Internet security and messaging solutions and select member of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program, is announcing the immediate availability of the Kerio MailServer Virtual Appliance, which has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that Kerio MailServer Virtual Appliance has passed a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware. VMware provides TAP program members with tools to develop products that are complementary to VMware virtualization software and deliver high-value solutions to joint customers.
"Kerio MailServer effectively leverages VMware virtualization to allow businesses to easily access email, calendars, contacts and tasks anytime and anywhere," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliances programs at VMware. "We are pleased that Kerio is delivering added value to customers with innovative technology combined with significant business benefits of VMware virtualization, including lower capital and operating expenses, business continuity, strengthened security and reduced energy consumption."
This new certification allows Kerio MailServer to be easily "dropped" into a VMware server infrastructure with standard configuration and does not require a separate OS installation. Once installed, Kerio MailServer Virtual Appliance can be administered remotely and updated like the standard product.
Virtualization allows companies to reduce energy and hardware costs over time. IT organizations have the flexibility to choose a single powerful server or a blade enclosure to have increased scalability. These flexible solutions provide enhanced integration with additional storage systems.
"Kerio is honored to receive our VMware Ready status," said James Gudeli, vice president of Business Development for Kerio Technologies. "We have a long history of delivering messaging software that exceeds industry standards and meets the needs of the SME market, and we believe this will help our channel provide even more value to their customers."
For VARs that standardize in VMware environments for their SME customers, Kerio MailServer Virtual Appliance is easy to install and provides secure messaging collaboration for the mobile workforce to access business data. Kerio MailServer includes integrated anti-spam and anti-virus, built-in backup and archiving, and multiple mobile device support.
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware TAP program. With more than 900 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
