SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - January 5, 2009) - Macworld Conference & Expo 2009 -- Kerio Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of award-winning Internet security and messaging solutions, today announced the preview of the Mac VPN client for Kerio WinRoute Firewall in Kerio's booth 1843 at Macworld San Francisco. Kerio WinRoute Firewall, a comprehensive Internet gateway security and management solution, includes a sophisticated SSL-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) Server for allowing secure, fast, remote access to the corporate network. Kerio's new VPN Client will now allow Mac users the same access to protected files and servers as PC users.

Now mobile business users on Intel-based Macbooks will have immediate access to all resources, whether Intranet web pages, document files, email, or database.

"Kerio WinRoute Firewall Mac VPN client was created from scratch by Kerio's experienced Mac developers with the Mac OS X look and feel; it is painless to install and setup and works without a hassle," said Jan Jezek, product development manager of Kerio WinRoute Firewall for Kerio Technologies, Inc. "Once configured, a user can forget about it and they will automatically have their company's network right there whether they are at work, at home, or on the go."

"We, at LoNet, feel the increased Apple market growth because more SMB users have Apple as their workstation or laptop," said Manuel Pablo Lorenzo, president and CEO of LoNet, Inc., an authorized reseller based in Miami, Florida. "The 'KWF Mac VPN Client' is the perfect complement to Kerio WinRoute Firewall 6. Now, National Communications -- one of the largest commercial printing companies in Florida can benefit from the new 'KWF Mac VPN Client,' because its remote population of users with Mac platforms can login securely and directly into their LAN. They can easily work with large files stored on their servers and use network resources such as high-end printers. This solution will replace the tedious process of accessing those files via FTP and asking on-site co-workers to do the printing when needed. Kerio provides the right tools to develop technical business solutions to our customers."

Kerio WinRoute Firewall (KWF) provides anti-virus scanning and web content filtering of all VPN traffic to ensure the secure link does not expose the network to threats. The product offers link load balancing, access policy management as well as extensive analysis and reporting. The VPN server in KWF, uses UDP (User Datagram Protocol) for fast data transmission and NAT compatibility. The tunnel is secured using standard SSL encryption for easy configuration on the client and server. Kerio's built in VPN server also provides site-to-site connectivity for connecting remote offices through a secure tunnel. Kerio VPN Client for Mac supports all Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X versions 10.4 and above. Kerio WinRoute Firewall and Kerio VPN Client are available for 32 or 64 bit processors. The integrated Kerio Clientless VPN supports all versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
