ANADIGICS: Samsung Leverages ANADIGICS' WCDMA PA Portfolio to Power New Omnia HD and Memoir Handsets
WARREN, NJ--(Marketwire - July 23, 2009) - [ ANADIGICS ], Inc. (
Launched in May 2009 in Asia and Europe, the Omnia HD is already one of Samsung's top selling phones. In addition to being the first mobile handset to offer 720p 23fps HD video recording, the Omnia HD features a 3.7 inch, full touchscreen display and supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operations. Samsung's Memoir, which was first announced at this year's Mobile World Congress, is a 3G, full touchscreen handset that closely resembles a point and shoot camera in both design and functionality. As well as capturing 8 megapixel images, the Memoir offers 16x digital zoom, five different shooting modes, and is driven by Samsung's new TouchWiz user interface.
"We are extremely proud to have worked alongside Samsung's design team on two of their highest profile new 3G multimedia handsets," reports Mario Rivas, the president and CEO at ANADIGICS, Inc. "Both of the ANADIGICS PAs chosen by Samsung incorporate our proprietary HELP3™ technology which lowers current consumption by up to 75 percent to provide the additional power needed for the highly innovative multimedia features offered in both these new phones."
Both WCDMA PAs from ANADIGICS leverage the Company's advanced InGaP HBT MMIC technology to offer industry leading levels of linearity, output power and efficiency.
