MALVERN, PA--(Marketwire - August 3, 2009) - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: [ VSH ]) recently announced two new families of 1-A rectifiers with voltage ratings of 100 V to 600 V. The new MSE1Px and MUH1Px devices are offered in an eSMP™ series MicroSMP package with footprint dimensions of just 2.5 mm by 1.3 mm and a height profile of 0.65 mm.

The new MSE1Px rectifiers feature ESD protection to 25 kV and a voltage range of 100 V to 600 V. Aimed at automotive and industrial control and sensor units, the new devices feature a high average forward current capability of 1 A and a high forward surge capability of 20 A.

The new MSE1Px devices will help to save space in rail-to-rail and polarity protection applications with their miniaturized package and high IF(AV) capability, while their ESD protection feature will help improve product reliability under harsh conditions. Their environmentally friendly MicroSMP package is lead (Pb)- and halogen-free and RoHS-compliant.

The new MUH1Px series offers designers a choice of 100-V (MUH1PB), 150-V (MUH1PC), and 200-V (MUH1PD) reverse voltage ratings along with an ultrafast 25-ns reverse recovery time for high-frequency applications. The MUH1PD is the industry's first 1-A, 200-V ultrafast rectifier in a super miniature package.

The devices' compact size saves space in secondary rectifiers and freewheeling diodes for ac-to-dc and dc-to-dc converters, battery chargers, and portable consumer electronics. The MUH1Px rectifiers feature a high average forward current of 1 A, forward surge capability of 10 A, low forward voltage drop, and low leakage current of 1 microamp. The devices offer an oxide planar chip junction and are ideal for automated placement.

Both families of new rectifiers feature a rugged maximum junction temperature of + 175 deg. C and an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1. The devices are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, and are halogen-free according to IEC 61249-2-21.

Samples and production quantities of the new rectifiers are available now with lead times of six weeks for larger orders.
