SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - February 4, 2009) - Data Domain, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ DDUP ]), the leading provider of deduplication storage systems, today announced that it has been recognized by Business Solutions Magazine as one of the best storage channel vendors for 2009. The award recognizes Data Domain's commitment to the channel, its service and support to the VAR community as well as its product features, innovation and reliability.

From September through October of 2008, Business Solutions Magazine surveyed more than 1,700 VAR subscribers online. Their questions included how friendly vendors are with the channel, their opinion of the vendor's channel program, product updates and vendor support and quality of service. The top 15% of vendors in each technology category that was surveyed were selected as Best Channel Vendors.

"Data Domain has attained elite status as a Business Solutions Magazine Best Channel Vendor," said Jim Roddy, president of Business Solutions Magazine. "The Storage category was very competitive, but Data Domain rated very well -- especially in Product Reliability, Product Features and Product Innovation. Clearly, the company has many satisfied resellers."

Data Domain is committed to delivering its award-winning deduplication storage systems through the channel and providing channel partners with the necessary tools to enable their success. Data Domain channel partners are supported by a team of dedicated channel managers and systems engineers.

A significant competitive advantage that Data Domain offers to its authorized channel partners is its focus on technology relationships, which can be leveraged into new sales opportunities. For example, by partnering with storage optimization provider F5 Networks, Data Domain and F5 give their mutual resellers a joint solution for enterprise customers to automate the movement of static and archive data from expensive primary storage to a cost-efficient secondary storage tier. Data Domain has also established relationships with leading archive, server virtualization and eDiscovery vendors, underscoring the flexibility of its deduplication systems while giving channel partners a deeper set of solutions to apply to customer challenges. This can increase the number of storage opportunities for the reseller and ultimately generates more product and services revenue for their storage practice.

"We are pleased to be named one of the Best Vendors in storage by Business Solutions Magazine," said Shane Jackson, senior director of channel marketing for Data Domain. "This is a testament to how Data Domain listens to its channel partner's needs and responds with value-added programs, selling tools and support to enable their success."

The Best Channel Vendor List can be found in the January 2009 issue of Business Solutions Magazine and online at [ http://www.businesssolutionsmag.com/ ].
