



IHS Chairman and CEO Jerre L. Stead Named 2009 Outstanding Director
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, announced today that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jerre L. Stead has been named a 2009 Outstanding Director by the ODX Outstanding Directors Program. The program honors independent directors of public companies who have been recognized by their peers for making a courageous or valuable contribution to the companies on whose boards they serve.

Stead was named executive chairman of IHS Inc. in December 2000 and assumed the additional role of chief executive officer in September 2006. Under his leadership, IHS became a publicly traded company in November 2005 and has acquired more than 18 firms – becoming a leading global source of critical information and insight for customers worldwide.
Joining IHS with a proven track record, Stead has held many executive positions throughout his 45-year career. At Ingram Micro, where he retired as chairman and CEO in May 2000, Stead was known for his great vision and global expertise. He took the company public in November 1996 and helped Ingram Micro grow from an $8 billion to a $32 billion company doing business in more than 120 countries. The company was No. 41 in Fortune 500 ratings for the year 2000. Stead began his career in 1965 at Honeywell, Inc., where he spent 21 years in various executive positions in the United States and Europe.
