SO. ST. PAUL, Minn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Digital Angel (NASDAQ:DIGA), an advanced technology company in the field of animal identification and emergency identification solutions, announced today that it has made a link available through the Destron Fearing website that provides a demonstration of the r.Tag Dynamic™ system in real time. The demonstration can be found by clicking on the r.Tag demonstration button at [ www.destronfearing.com ].

The r.Tag system launch was enthusiastically received at the 2009 Annual Cattle Industry Convention and National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show in Phoenix last week, prompting the Company to make this system demo site available to the public to demonstrate the operation of the system in real time.

"The Destron Fearing booth at the Phoenix cattle industry trade show reported a high level of interest in both of our new r.Tag and CoolTag™ products," commented Digital Angel Chief Executive Officer Joseph J. Grillo. "Feedlot owners, auction barns and transportation companies all saw the r.Tag as an innovative solution that is long overdue," he added.

The electronic transponder r.Tags can be read at distances up to 100 feet, and when coupled with the system's r.Tag Position Indicators, an animal's location can be established within a few feet. This technology was specially developed to provide superior animal management for producers and to offer state of the art animal identification for food safety and traceability.

Technological advances in livestock identification systems address some very large markets worldwide. According to industry estimates, the cattle population in the U.S. alone numbers over 100 million cows and calves in beef and dairy operations, with the pork industry accounting for another 60 million animals.

The r.Tag demonstration website will be available to the general public through February 27, 2009, after which time it will require a login and password.
