Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital Selects Eclipsys to Meet Specialized Needs of Post-Acute Care and Rehabilitation Medicine
ATLANTA--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Eclipsys Corporation® (NASDAQ: ECLP), The Outcomes Company®, today announced that Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital (Lincoln, NE), one of the nation's foremost rehabilitation hospitals, plans to adopt a wide-range of the company's clinical solutions. The multi-phase technology initiative is expected to enhance the new client's clinical workflows and interdisciplinary care coordination, leverage existing resources, and most important, promote positive patient outcomes in all levels of care: long-term care hospital, acute rehabilitation, sub-acute care, extended care, hospital day program and outpatient rehabilitation.
Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, unique in that it offers six accredited rehabilitation programs, will leverage Eclipsys' Microsoft®-based advanced technology platform and integrated clinical applications to accommodate the unique workflows of each stage of rehabilitative care. The implementation also positions the organization to be able to scale to meet growing demand for post-acute care rehabilitation programs. Plans call for initial development of clinical workflows for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital's inpatient facility to incorporate rehabilitation medical management, which will include bedside medication administration.

Once in place, Madonna professional staff will gain a single access point to review and update patient data, such as test results, access notes and interdisciplinary care plans, as well as information about allergies, medications and medical problems. Knowledge-Based Medication Administration™ also will deliver handheld, bar-code scanning devices to support verification of the five rights of medication safety: right patient, right drug, right dose, right time and right route. Along with a sophisticated alerts engine with rules authoring capabilities, Eclipsys solutions will help Madonna hospital clinicians to make better, more informed clinical decisions through intuitive tools customized to their unique care setting workflow.
