Quest Software Launches Coexistence Manager for Notes
ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Quest Software, Inc. ] (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced the launch of Coexistence Manager for Notes, the newest addition to its industry leading set of [ migration solutions ]. This solution allows organizations to utilize both IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange Server simultaneously while either [ migrating from Notes to Exchange ] or during a prolonged coexistence scenario, all without disrupting daily end user activities.
Combined with Quest's premiere migration product, [ Notes Migrator for Exchange ], Coexistence Manager for Notes ensures a seamless migration from IBM Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange through high-fidelity email, calendaring and document hyperlink coexistence. In effect, administrative and help desk burdens are reduced across the organization.
"With the release of Coexistence Manager for Notes, we have solved possibly one of the biggest pains among users of IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange: synchronized calendaring and email support," said David Waugh, vice president of Unified Communications and Collaboration, Quest Software. "The solution broadens our migration product portfolio and offers users a worry-free transition experience."
When [ coexisting between Notes and Exchange ], common concerns include inconsistent calendar data, lost attachments, extraneous attachments, and loss of document link functionality. Quest Coexistence Manager for Notes ensures that calendar data, including invitations with custom and recurring meetings, is processed correctly. The product also maintains Notes document link functionality and preserves workflow by automatically redirecting e-mail-based document hyperlinks to the current location of the application, whether it is on Notes or SharePoint. This maintains business continuity and ensures that business productivity is not negatively impacted due to downtime of email or calendaring. In addition, the product also preserves the native look and functionality of all icons and document links, further enabling a seamless transition for the entire organization.
Along with Coexistence Manager for Notes, Quest recently released a new version of [ Notes Migrator for SharePoint, ] which added discovery and analysis, project management, SharePoint site provisioning, and enhanced QuickPlace migration support. Notes Migrator for SharePoint also allows organizations to migrate Lotus Notes, QuickPlace and Domino.doc application content to SharePoint without data loss. The product scales from automated migration of standard Notes applications to advanced migration of complex custom Notes applications. Additionally, Quest announced that two of its popular migration products, Notes Migrator for Exchange and [ GroupWise Migrator for Exchange ], support Microsoft's newly-launched Business Productivity Online Suite. Both can now migrate email and calendaring data directly to Microsoft Exchange Online.
