Mon, January 12, 2009 Hoosier Park Racing & Casino Bets on Emtec to Develop Comprehensive Network Infrastructure
MARLTON, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Emtec, Inc. (OTCBB:ETEC), an information technology systems and services company, today announced that Hoosier Park Racing & Casino of Anderson, Ind., Indiana's premier entertainment destination, tasked Emtec to design a next-generation network infrastructure in just two months to support its 174,000 square foot facility. Emtec built a fully integrated network for the entertainment complex – bringing both the Casino and Racing activities onto one platform – which only a few destinations have accomplished. During the build out, the Emtec team focused on three main aspects: network design, wireless and security requirements.
Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is now able to manage over 2,000 slot machines, all restaurants, racing activity and much more from one consolidated infrastructure. The network is comprised of 28 servers and was built to accommodate rapid evolving gaming technology such as server-based gaming, wireless wagering, slot accounting, player tracking, reporting, database marketing, cashless capabilities, loyalty programs and more.
Another key aspect of the design was the new wireless capability, which allows customers to make wagers on horse racing, order food and drinks, use the casino, and do virtually every task via wireless connection. This gives Hoosier Park a unique capability — pari-mutuel clerks with hand-held devices can roam the casino floor and take horse racing wagers from the slot players. Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is one of the only destinations that is able to incorporate horse race wagering from the casino through a wireless network. The mobile capabilities provide wireless reach throughout the entire casino on one consolidated network.

A critical component when designing a casino network are the security measures that must be implemented. Emtec has a solid understanding of all regulations and security requirements necessary for a premier destination such as Hoosier Park Racing & Casino. In order to open its doors, all validation criteria from the Gaming Commission of Indiana had to be met and each slot machine accounted for on the network.
