TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.: TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. Wins Product of the Year Award From Internet Telephony Magazin
ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - January 12, 2009) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (
When subscribers need emergency services and utilize VoIP E9-1-1, calls are routed to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). However, some VoIP telecommunications service provider networks do not have the ability to properly route calls due to incompatibility with the existing E9-1-1 structure. The features of TCS' VoIP Verify E9-1-1 offering provide VSP subscribers with immediate feedback describing the extent of the VoIP E9-1-1 service for their address location to ensure that the emergency call has been received by the correct PSAP.
"TCS is committed to providing superior public safety offerings that feature precise location technology to ensure that all E9-1-1 incidents are handled quickly and efficiently," said Maurice B. Tosé, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TCS. "VoIP Verify E9-1-1 provides VoIP callers with immediate verification of their current location to ensure connection with the correct PSAP. We are honored to be recognized for an innovative solution that provides life-saving emergency services."
"Internet Telephony is pleased to grant a 2008 Product of the Year Award to TCS for their product VoIP Verify E9-1-1. TCS has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace," Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of Internet Telephony magazine. "We're proud to honor their accomplishments in the advancement of IP communications and look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future."
