BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwire - January 8, 2009) - CX2 Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: [ CXTO ]) today announced the sale of a CX2 ESP1000™ Digital Base Station for installation in Miami, Florida.

Michael Rand, President of CX2 Technologies, stated, "We are very pleased with this recent sale. With the continued downturn of our economy, the customer's goal is to offer an inexpensive solution to businesses within Miami-Dade County for Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and credit card swiping."

Dr. James McCain, managing partner of Miami Metro Wireless Partners and president of Business Works ([ www.bizdrsolution.com ]), chose a CX2 base station because the technology is unique, operating in very narrow 5 kHz channels in the 220-222 MHz radio frequency. As Dr. McCain stated, "CX2's propagation characteristics are superior to higher frequency bands, and therefore less expensive to operate. We intend to pass these cost savings to our customers."

The management of Miami Metro intends to develop turnkey digital data solutions similar to one they recently deployed in New York City. The company will run the CX2 Local Site Server (LSS) software on Microsoft servers integrated with LINUX-MySQL, open source software, and Amazon's Elastic Cloud technology (EC2). Miami Metro has also chosen to use Digital Dial LLC to integrate the spectrum-efficient CX2 technology with Microsoft and Amazon technologies.

As Dr. McCain stated, "The combination of these technologies will bring forward a low-cost, cutting-edge solution, and the use of CX2 LSS software allows us to start marketing to enterprise customers. We intend to build more 220 MHz systems in a number of top 20 cities this calendar year."
