SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 14, 2009) - AltiGen Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ATGN ]), a leading provider of 100 percent Microsoft-based VoIP call centers, phone systems and intelligent gateways, today announced it has been deployed at Gibson Guitar's Nashville headquarters to integrate with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.

Gibson is an early adopter of the Microsoft OCS solution. Earlier this year, Gibson made the decision to increase the capability of its call center. AltiGen was selected for its ability to provide intelligent routing, supervision and call recording. In addition to functioning as the call center, AltiGen is also providing an integrated, intelligent gateway for PSTN connectivity to both the call center and the OCS server.

"Gibson is the world's leading manufacturer of musical instruments and musical technology," said Eddie Martinie, Gibson Information Technology Manager. "We hold our products and company infrastructure to the same standards of excellence and leading technology. Gibson endeavors to use nothing but the best, and that is why we chose AltiGen for our call center. It will help us maintain our competitive advantage."

"From day one we have utilized Microsoft as the platform for all of our voice applications," said Shirley Sun, AltiGen's vice president of research and development. "With native integration, we are a complementary extension when companies choose to utilize Microsoft's unified communications solutions."

"In one day I seamlessly integrated OCS with the AltiGen call center/voice gateway," added Martinie. "Once I received the AltiGen server, it was installed and ready to go in a few hours. An AltiGen engineer remotely connected to the server and configured updates while I dropped phones off at desks. By the time I got back, I was setting up extensions the same day I received the hardware.

"Microsoft OCS has completely changed our company culture. The next step was to extend that to our call center. I tested all of the available call center products that tie into OCS. None of them even came close to the AltiGen solution. The affordability and seamless integration with Microsoft OCS is really the best of both worlds," Martinie concluded.

AltiGen will be demonstrating its integration with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 this week in New Orleans at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.
