NASDAQ : [ ORCL ]) today announced a world record four-processor result on the two-tier SAP® Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark running the SAP Enhancement Pack 4 for the SAP ERP 6.0 application (Unicode).(1) - On a system configuration comprised of a Sun SPARC Enterprise® T5440 server equipped with four 1.6 GHz Sun UltraSPARC T2 Plus processors, Oracle Database running on the Solaris™ 10 Operating System achieved 4,720 SAP SD Benchmark users.
- In addition to this world record result, Oracle also holds world records on the two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark(2) and the SAP SD-Parallel Standard Application Benchmark.(3)
- The two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark measures the system performance to process dialog steps and order line item postings per hour for SAP solution-based transactions. A transaction consists of a full business process that captures activities from the full order processing cycle from order creation to delivery to invoicing.

(1) The two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark performed on June 22, 2009 by Sun Microsystems and Fujitsu in Walldorf Germany, has been certified with the following data: 4,720 SAP SD Benchmark users, 0.97 seconds average dialog response time, 516,670 fully processed order line items/hour, 1,550,000 dialog steps/hour, 35,830 SAPS, 0.110 sec/0.169 sec average database request time (dialog/update), 96 percent CPU utilization of central server. Server configuration: SPARC Enterprise T5540; 4 processors/32 cores/256 threads; Solaris 10 operating system, central server; Oracle 10g RDBMS; SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 (Unicode). (2) The two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark performed on June 28, 2008 by Sun Microsystems and Fujitsu has been certified with the following data: 39,100 SAP SD Benchmark users, 1.94 seconds average dialog response time, 3,931,330 fully processed order line items per hour, 11,794,000 dialog steps per hour, 196,570 SAPS. Server configuration: SPARC Enterprise Server M9000, 64 processors/256 cores/512 threads, SPARC 64 VII, 2.52 GHZ, 64 KB (D) + 64 KB (1) L1 cache per core, 6 MB L2 cache per processor, 1024 GB main memory, running Solaris 10, Oracle Database 10g and SAP ERP 6.0. Certification number 2008042.
(3) The SAP SD-Parallel Standard Application Benchmark performed on November 26, 2007 by IBM in Beaverton, OR, USA has been certified with the following data: 37,040 SAP SD-Parallel Benchmark users, 1.86 seconds average dialog response time, 3,749,000 fully processed order line items per hour, 11,247,000 dialog steps per hour, 187,450 SAPS. Server configuration: IBM System p 570, 8 processors/16 cores/32 threads, POWER6, 4.7 GHz, 128 KB L1 cache and 4 MB L2 cache per core, 32 MB L3 cache per processor, 128 GM main memory, running AIX 5L version 5.3, Oracle 10g Real Application Clusters and SAP ERP 6.0.
