FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - May 14, 2009) - AltiGen Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ATGN ]), a leading provider of 100 percent Microsoft-based VoIP business phone systems and Unified Communications solutions, today announced that the Gartner Group has ranked AltiGen as the #7 US-based vendor in the worldwide enterprise telephony market in 2008. The Gartner report, published in May of this year, is based on total enterprise telephony extension line shipments. The report also concluded that:

-- Enterprises are increasingly making telephony decisions in conjunction with unified communications (UC) decisions, to ensure long-term integration into UC strategies -- Suppliers' UC solutions' ability to integrate multiple devices across multiple communications channels has become a key purchase consideration -- Now, more than ever, justifying future projects is closely tied to return on investment (ROI) and cost factors

Jeff Kays, AltiGen's Vice President of Business Development, stated, "Considering the major technology companies selling enterprise telephony systems, we are extremely proud of our position as the #7 US-based vendor in the worldwide telephony market. Our products have been specifically designed to integrate with Microsoft technologies to deliver a seamless, cost effective Unified Communications solution. The results in the report demonstrate that customers and business partners are becoming increasingly aware of the value of Unified Communications and are turning to AltiGen for the solution."

Jerry Fleming, AltiGen's President and COO, added, "This report reinforces our strategy to leverage the growing market trend toward Unified Communications. In addition, our ability to integrate enterprise communications across multiple communications channels and devices, coupled with our value-pricing model, delivers superior ROI for our customers. In today's market environment, as Gartner noted, ROI is more important than ever in justifying new projects."
