SolarWinds: Launch of the SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) Program Allows IT Experts to Get Their "Geek Cred"
AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - June 22, 2009) - SolarWinds (
The [ SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) Program ] is designed to acknowledge professionals who have amassed years of hands-on, working knowledge of managing network environments -- from understanding and using the various networking protocols to identifying the scope and source of fault and performance issues. With input and support from its active community, the SolarWinds team has spent the past year developing, building and refining the program. The company sought to create a unique assessment, grounded in real-world experience, which fills a gap in today's networking certification landscape.
"Unlike other vendor programs, SCP is not just about testing experience and familiarity with our product. It is one of only a few programs to recognize practical experience in the fundamentals of network management -- critical experience in today's 'always on, always available' business environment. Giving IT teams access to tools and solutions that make them better at their jobs is central to what we do, and this certification is another example of our commitment to the networking community." - Josh Stephens, vice president and [ Head Geek ], SolarWinds.
"In the network management business, certifications are valuable for engineers who want to further prove skills and employers who want more ways to find qualified employees. SolarWinds, with its community engagement and reputation in the market, should be able to deliver a welcome networking certification program." - Michael Coté, analyst, [ Redmonk ]
