OREM, UT--(Marketwire - June 25, 2009) - Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ OMTR ]), a leading provider of [ online business optimization software ], today announced the availability of new [ Genesis ] technology to expand, speed and simplify the development and integration of partner applications with the [ Omniture Open Business Analytics Platform, ] the foundation of the [ Omniture Online Marketing Suite ]™, to further optimize online marketing. The new Genesis technology includes integration APIs and a developer sandbox that allow partners to unlock value for joint customers through the development of applications that leverage or add to the approximately 1 trillion transactions measured each quarter.

The Omniture Developer Sandbox is a set of test data in a full-featured [ SiteCatalyst ] development environment. Developers can utilize the new APIs to build and test new applications and integrations within the sandbox. Developers can experiment, test and package their applications and integrations in a confined environment within the sandbox and then submit the finished product to Omniture for certification. The sandbox simplifies the development of plug and play applications and integrations, helping developers bring more integrations to market more quickly, in order to increase the number of [ Genesis applications ] and integrations available to Omniture customers.

The new APIs include:

  • Partner Enablement API -- automates the setup of integrations and data exchange, such as targeted visitor segments and reporting metrics, between partner applications and Omniture. This decreases the need for developers to engage consulting or engineering services from Omniture
  • Integration APIs -- provide bi-directional data exchange and administration between partner applications and Omniture products
    • DATA Import APIs -- enables the import of product and content classifications for enhanced SiteCatalyst reporting, import of data from internal or third party systems for combined measurement of offline and online marketing initiatives and the ability to perform server-side Web site data collection
    • Reporting API -- enables third-party applications to access SiteCatalyst's core report data
    • Administrative API -- allows third-party applications to configure SiteCatalyst user permissions and report suite access
    • DataWarehouse API -- enables partner applications to define and export targeted visitor segments for remarketing campaigns

"Part of being a successful software company today includes encouraging an ecosystem of complementary solutions to grow by engaging with developer communities," said Bill Gassman, research director, Gartner. "Developers have many choices, and will gravitate towards the environments with rich APIs, tools, support and vibrant market demand. There are many unique solutions available for online marketing, but synergy comes as they are integrated into an ecosystem, making it easier to improve analysis, and turn it into action."

"The power and influence of online business is expanding as we see our customers utilizing the online data we capture to make decisions about virtually every aspect of their businesses," said John Mellor, executive vice president of business development and corporate strategy at Omniture. "With these new tools we anticipate a continued expansion of the [ Omniture Genesis ] program, bringing in more partners, applications and integrations that will enhance the depth and breadth of the [ Omniture Online Marketing Suite ]."

The Omniture Developer Sandbox is currently in beta for Omniture Partners. Partners interested in using the sandbox can request access by contacting their partner account manager. To learn more about becoming an Omniture Partner, please visit [ www.omniture.com/partners ].
