SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 12, 2009) - Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: [ RVBD ]), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced that it will showcase its award-winning WAN optimization solutions at the HP Technology Forum & Expo 2009 taking place June 15 - 18 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The HP Technology Forum & Expo is the largest event for IT professionals using HP technologies. Customers and partners from around the world gather for learning in key technology areas and an in-depth look at the newest IT solutions and emerging technologies.

HP and Riverbed® have come together to deliver solutions for the enterprise that overcome the application performance problems that often stall IT consolidation projects. Combining HP's suite of industry-leading technology solutions with Riverbed WAN optimization products, customers can leverage two industry leaders to develop their IT consolidation strategy. HP recently selected Riverbed as the only WAN Optimization vendor to be invited into the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem (HP ProCurve ONE), a new multi-vendor alliance program. As part of this relationship, Riverbed will enable its Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS®), which powers its Steelhead® product family, to run on the HP ProCurve ONE Services zl module, a blade for the HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl and 8200zl series that consolidates partner applications onto a common platform, enabling reduced costs and optimizing rack space. Attendees can visit the Riverbed booth #408 to learn more about the joint solution.

To learn more about WAN optimization and its role in IT consolidation efforts, attendees can hear Riverbed spokesperson Milin Desai present, "Deliver IT Consolidation Success with WAN Optimization".

Who: Riverbed product manager Milin Desai When: June 17, 2009, 10:30 a.m. PT Where: Room Jasmine G What: Deliver IT Consolidation Success with WAN Optimization Distributed enterprises are cutting IT costs by centralizing application servers and implementing a virtualization solution. As they consolidate mission-critical servers and applications out of branch offices and back into the datacenter, they may be introducing performance problems due to increased latency and limited bandwidth over the wide area network (WAN). This can cause applications to become unacceptably slow for remote workers and threaten the success of IT initiatives. In this session, attendees will learn: - How virtualization and IT consolidation can help reduce cost and complexity - How combining WAN optimization with current infrastructure can help reduce IT expenses - How to leverage current HP products with Riverbed to maximize your existing infrastructure
