SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - June 3, 2009) - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ARUN ]), a global leader in wireless LANs and secure mobility solutions, today announced that its adaptive 802.11n wireless LAN has been Voice Interoperability for Enterprise Wireless (VIEW) Certified by Polycom®. Combining Wi-Fi and wireless voice-over-IP (VoIP) technologies requires careful planning, and thorough advanced testing provides added confidence that the deployment will go smoothly. IT organizations look to the VIEW Certification program to simplify voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) deployments with the knowledge that the systems have been rigorously tested to ensure compatibility. Aruba is the first vendor to certify its 802.11n solution under Polycom's VIEW program, and offers the only wireless LAN that automatically tunes coverage for optimal performance.

The VIEW Certification Program tests the interoperability and performance of wireless solutions with Polycom's SpectraLink® 8020/8030 Wireless Telephones to ensure that they can be used seamlessly without concern for system incompatibilities. Aruba's 802.11n adaptive wireless LAN was verified to have delivered the performance measures essential for high-quality VoIP deployments.

"Our customers depend on SpectraLink Wireless Telephones for a wide range of critical applications, and they both need and expect high availability while roaming, toll-quality voice, and security against snooping," said Geri Mitchell-Brown, Polycom's director of technical business development. "Aruba's adaptive wireless LAN is the first 802.11n product we have VIEW Certified, and we're delighted to have such a high-capacity solution available for use with our handsets. In addition to meeting our performance requirements, Aruba's solution incorporates unique features targeted specifically at improving the quality and security of voice applications. These will no doubt be welcome news for organizations looking to boost employee productivity with secure and reliable voice mobility."

Several characteristics differentiate Aruba's adaptive Wi-Fi solutions, making them especially well suited for demanding healthcare, educational, and enterprise applications:

-- Aruba's policy enforcement firewall provides role-based security to the entire network, including wireless voice devices that don't use authentication; -- The high-capacity, high-availability 802.11n network allows voice, video, telemetry, data, and guest traffic to be run simultaneously yet segmented for security and reliability; -- Adaptive Radio management (ARM) automatically self-tunes the network in the presence of a changing RF environment, ensuring consistent call quality even in cases of heavy voice traffic.

"As more companies rightsize their network infrastructure, reducing wired LANs in favor of Aruba's 802.11n wireless LANs, the need for certified interoperable wireless voice solutions grows," said Manav Khurana, Aruba's head of industry marketing. "Aruba and Polycom's SpectraLink voice solutions are complementary and proven to enhance employee mobility, responsiveness and productivity, making interoperability certification a top priority. Network integrators and customers alike will benefit from the availability of these pre-tested solutions."
