FORT LEE, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--ORBCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: ORBC), a global satellite data communications company focused on two-way Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications, and MobileNet, Inc. a global solutions provider specializing in heavy equipment telematics applications, today announced that Doosan Infracore America (DIA) has selected MobileNet's TrakPak application as the GPS system to be included as standard equipment on new qualifying Doosan DX Series Excavators and DL Series Wheel Loaders.

"The decision by Doosan to use ORBCOMM for data communications affirms our position as the leading satellite network amongst commercial OEMs for telematics applications," said Marc Eisenberg, Chief Executive Officer of ORBCOMM. "ORBCOMM is fortunate to have resellers like MobileNet that continue to deliver unique and exciting applications that utilize our global machine-to-machine satellite data network."

"The TrakPak system developed by MobileNet utilizes ORBCOMM's global two-way data communications capability to monitor equipment conditions, ranging from location, work hours, geo fencing, unauthorized use alerts, fuel consumption, and productivity, among others," said Bill Purdie, CEO of MobileNet.

MobileNet's TrakPak application is an onboard vehicle monitoring and communications system that helps heavy equipment users improve operational efficiency by remotely monitoring machine usage. The system tracks and communicates key productivity and performance information, which can be accessed through an online web site, providing a detailed examination of individual machine's operation. The system uses ORBCOMM's global low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation for communications, relaying critical positioning and operational data from the machine to the MobileNet back office application.
