Imation Apollo" External Hard Drive Receives Art of Storage Award at 2009 Storage Visions Conference

OAKDALE, Minn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN) today announced that its Apollo™ Expert UX 2.5-inch external hard drive (EHD) was awarded the prestigious "Art of Storage" award at the 2009 Storage Visions Conference (partner program to the 2009 International CES) earlier this week in Las Vegas. The Imation Apollo Expert UX provides portability and a leading-edge 2.5-inch form factor that looks just as striking vertically or horizontally on its integrated swivel stand. The unique design features a protective skin to prevent scratches and abrasions with 250GB, 320GB and 500GB of capacity and includes a patent-pending integrated stand for vertical or horizontal orientation to ensure that the Apollo drive complements how each user works.

The "Art of Storage" award is the only award given that recognizes innovation in design for customer ease-of-use and good industrial design in digital storage applications, storage media and digital storage devices used in Consumer Electronics. The award also recognizes the appealing and clever aesthetic features in Consumer Electronics digital storage applications, devices and media.

Launched at the Storage Visions show this week, Imation's Apollo Expert UX is a part of its family of external hard drives. Other products announced included the Apollo Pro UX, a 3.5-inch hard drive that offers desktop users up to 1.5 TB of capacity. Each stylish drive features an integrated patent-pending stand and unique benefits for backup and storage of data, video, music and photos.

Other features include low capacity/data activity indicator lights for easy identification of data processes; built-in sleep mode for energy conservation; and one-touch, backup sync buttons with backup software for simple, automatic backup of data, photos, music and videos. Both the Apollo Expert UX and Apollo Pro UX are compatible with PC or Mac computers.

Pricing and Availability

The Imation Apollo Expert UX and Apollo Pro UX are available this month in the U.S. starting at a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $109.99 and $119.99 respectively, depending on capacity.
