3PAR: 3PAR Names Vice President of North American Sales

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2009) - [ 3PAR ]® (NYSE: [ PAR ]), the leading global provider of [ utility storage ], announced today the appointment of Whitney Tomlin as Vice President of North American Sales. Tomlin brings to 3PAR over 25 years of sales experience in the high tech industry.

Tomlin will oversee 3PAR's North American Sales organization, responsible for overall sales execution and customer satisfaction. In this role, he will lead 3PAR's efforts to grow its revenues, customer base, and sales organization. Tomlin will report to 3PAR's Vice President of Worldwide Sales, RJ Weigel.

Tomlin joins 3PAR from SunPower, America's largest manufacturer of high-performance solar electric systems, where he was the General Manager of North America's Commercial Division. At SunPower, Tomlin was responsible for sales, marketing, and financial analysis of the company's roof-top and ground-mount business, selling to non-residential commercial and utility accounts in North America.

Prior to SunPower, Tomlin spent six years at NetApp, where he held the position of Vice President of Sales. At NetApp, he led a $500-Million sales organization responsible for the Western Area, the largest of the three geographic territories in the United States. In that position, Tomlin directed over 200 sales, pre-sales, channel, and marketing individuals spread across thirteen states with dotted line responsibility for professional services. Prior to his tenure at NetApp, Tomlin was Vice President of Sales at Cisco where he was responsible for the Western region, overseeing more than 500 people representing more than $1 Billion in sales. Tomlin has held numerous other senior management positions at IBM, Wang Laboratories, and Progress Software.

The role of Vice President of North American Sales for 3PAR was previously held by RJ Weigel, who has since assumed the role of Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
