The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. A panel of independent judges selected Hagerty from more than 100 nominations. At a gala being held June 13, Ernst & Young LLP will announce the regional award winner, who is then eligible to win the national award later this year.
"It's exciting and gratifying to be named a finalist for this honor," said Hagerty, who joined Polycom in 1997 as president, chief operating officer and board member. He was named CEO a year later and became chairman in 2000. "Even in slow economies and hostile competitive environments, entrepreneurs find a way to succeed.
