TSX Venture Exchange Symbol "SER" EDMONTON, June 1 /CNW/ - Serenic Corporation (TSX-V:SER), ("Serenic" or the "Corporation"), a leading publisher of financial management and business operations software for nonprofits, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the public sector, and Capital Business Solutions, a Serenic partner and provider of financial management and development software and services, announced today that Serenic Navigator has been selected by the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), the leading international conservation organization focused solely on Africa. AWF is a nonprofit organization founded in 1961 to help newly independent African nations and people conserve their own wildlife. AWF has helped to ensure the continued existence of some of Africa's most rare and treasured species by training and educating conservation professionals and developing conservation enterprises to improve peoples' livelihoods while also conserving wildlife. With headquarters in Washington, D.C., and 80 percent of its staff in Africa, AWF requires sophisticated tracking of program budgets and grant funding in multiple languages and currencies. It was looking for a "paperless solution" and had outgrown the capabilities of its existing SunSystems financial management system. AWF chose Serenic Navigator after considering Blackbaud, Deltec Information Systems, Great Plains and Solomon Software. "Serenic was able to automate at a much higher level than any other system we considered," said AWF's Chief Financial Officer Jeff Chrisfield. "We operate with a thin staff, and manual data analysis had become too time-consuming and distracting for us. Further, Serenic was the only system able to provide a unified and synchronized database across the many developing countries in which we operate. We expect to recoup our investment in Serenic within 12 to 18 months by freeing up two full time finance employees, as well as significantly improving internal budget accountability through the provision of superior financial reporting." Serenic's replicator tool will be a big benefit, according to Chrisfield, helping AWF to communicate across its nine offices in Africa, where it needs to synchronize data sets and where connectivity problems often create issues. A total of 18 AWF users will access Serenic Navigator - certified for Microsoft Dynamics NAV - and AwardVision, Serenic's grant management product, with unlimited users accessing Serenic Portal Services features via the Web. The fully integrated Serenic Navigator product suite includes advanced budgeting capabilities, which will allow the organization to combine financials, procurement and grant management. "Serenic Navigator has the capability to help nonprofit organizations better handle multiple languages and currencies," said Serenic CEO and President Randy Keith. "For global nonprofits like AWF, Serenic Navigator eliminates operating inefficiencies imposed by separate, disconnected systems, and provides users all over the world with real-time, reliable information access."
