OREM, UT--(Marketwire - February 18, 2009) - Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ OMTR ]), a leading provider of [ online business optimization software ], today announced that [ StubHub ], the leading online marketplace for connecting sports, concert and theatre event ticket sellers and buyers, is beta testing [ Omniture Recommendations™ ] to increase customer engagement and revenue across its Web site and email marketing channel. Omniture Recommendations replaces StubHub's previous manual and time-consuming processes which are no longer scalable as monthly traffic continues to climb.

[ Omniture Recommendations ] is a powerful application that gives marketers the ability to customize and control product or content presented on Web sites and other online channels, such as mobile and email. The application features a marketer-friendly user interface and a portfolio of pre-built algorithms that display the most relevant product or content, such as popular and similar items, to drive maximum conversion, customer engagement and revenue. In addition, site and product affinity algorithms can determine which products or content to present based on a combination of criteria including: page views, cart adds and removes, and overall site activity. It also includes built-in testing and reporting capabilities so marketers can rapidly test and optimize recommendations. Omniture Recommendations is part of the newly unveiled [ Omniture Online Marketing Suite ].

StubHub conducted several onsite beta tests with Omniture Recommendations which successfully increased average order value (AOV) by 14 percent. StubHub's marketing and analytics team decided to apply the recommendations technology to their email marketing channel to address shopping cart abandonment. Since StubHub had recently integrated their real-time [ Omniture SiteCatalyst ] Web analytics data with Responsys, their email marketing campaign provider, they were able to use that data and Omniture Recommendations to easily test and optimize different email recommendations. [ SiteCatalyst ] discovered key points in the checkout flow where customers abandoned their cart. [ Omniture Recommendations ] used this data to automatically determine which events could be shown to that same customer in a targeted email in order to re-engage with them. By presenting customers who had abandoned their shopping carts with incredibly relevant content and offers via email, StubHub was able to increase average email click-through rates by over 550 percent, which in turn, lifted revenue by over 2,500 percent.

"[ Omniture Recommendations ] integrates with third-party email applications, enabling us to extend recommendations beyond our onsite experience to optimize our customer interactions across multiple channels," says Liz Nakamoto, lead business data architect at StubHub. "It has drastically reduced the time and resources previously required to promote content and products, allowing us more time to identify other opportunities where we can apply recommendations to create more lift."
