Unisys Achieves Multiple Capability Maturity Model Integration Certifications
BLUE BELL, Pa.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) today announced that it has recently achieved Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) certifications at four software development and applications services support facilities in Leeds in the United Kingdom, Charlotte, N.C. and Eagan, Minn., and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
CMMI is a global process improvement model that looks at how well an organization develops and delivers products and services to clients. Developed and supported by Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI), the CMMI framework and best practices are widely used by organizations around the world to improve software development and maintenance related processes.
"Unisys has partnered with us in the implementation of our next generation enterprise payments platforms," says Zahid Afzal, executive vice president and chief information officer of Huntington Bank Corp, a long-time customer of Unisys application modernization services. "We continue to see evidence of Unisys commitment to quality, and process improvement certifications like CMMI underscore its application services strength."
The Unisys Development Centre in Leeds, U.K. has achieved CMMI Maturity Level 5, the highest industry distinction. The Leeds facility provides development and production support for various technology projects primarily in the financial services sector, including helping to modernize and drive cost efficiencies through market leading technology and related application services in mortgage processing and other areas.
In the United States, Unisys application services centers in Charlotte, N.C. and Eagan, Minn., achieved CMMI Capability Level 4 and Maturity Level 3, respectively. The Unisys application services center in Sao Paulo, Brazil also received CMMI Maturity Level 3. The sites provide application services and production support for mission-critical systems in various areas such as banking, airlines and the public sector.
"These four facilities achieved an internationally-recognized credential that signifies Unisys commitment to continuous improvement and client satisfaction," says Cem Tanyel, vice president and general manager of the Application Services program at Unisys. "These CMMI accreditations attest to our commitment to application services and modernization, and recognize the investments that Unisys continues to make in these areas to help our clients support their mission-critical systems."
All CMMI assessment findings submitted to SEI are audited by SEI before the results are made public. This mandatory component indicates how the global governing body carefully protects the authenticity of its certifications.
