


Teradyne, Pintail Enter Alliance to Market and Support Adaptive Test Solutions
NORTH READING, Mass.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Teradyne Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Pintail Technologies of Plano, TX to offer its customers an expanded set of semiconductor test solutions for improving yield, optimizing quality and reducing the cost of test.
Teradyne selected Pintail's adaptive test software because of its effectiveness in meeting volume production needs at leading chip manufacturers. In addition, Pintail's products meet Teradyne's requirement of being easy to use, easy to deploy and are supported by many test subcontractors.
Pintail customers, including Qualcomm and Texas Instruments, report reducing test cost by as much as 25 percent and yield ramp times by 20 percent.
Teradyne's customers can now leverage the expertise of Teradyne's worldwide Test Assistance Group (TAG) to deploy these techniques into production. The Pintail software may be licensed for use at customer-owned test floors or with their designated Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) providers. Pintail's products are currently in production at most OSAT facilities throughout the world.
Customers will continue to license the software directly from Pintail.
