Omniture: Omniture Announces Recommendations Application as Part of Online Marketing Suite
OREM, UT--(Marketwire - February 18, 2009) - [ Omniture ], Inc. (
The conversion success resulting from the use of online product and content recommendations has increased marketer demand for this kind of application. Historically, including recommendations in the marketing mix has often been a manual and time-intensive process limited to Web sites. Omniture's application overcomes this challenge with a flexible, highly automated Web site recommendations capability that can be extended to multiple channels.
Omniture Recommendations features a marketer-friendly user interface and a portfolio of pre-built algorithms that display relevant products or content such as popular and similar items, to drive maximum conversion, customer engagement and revenue. In addition, site and product affinity algorithms can determine which products or content to present based on a combination of criteria including: page views, cart adds and removes, and overall site activity. Marketers can also drill down to granular levels of control, modifying the recommendation algorithms based on certain parameters, such as price ranges, product categories and other variables. As a result, marketers can balance recommendations between customer behavior insights and current business needs. The application also includes built-in testing and reporting capabilities.
"The high level of control Omniture Recommendations provides is invaluable, ensuring the recommendations presented to visitors make sense within the real-time context of their current site activity," said Mark Carson, vice president of customer experience at eCampus. "We have the ability to select the right algorithms and parameters to fit our dynamic business needs, rather than rely on a 'one-size-fits-all black box' approach."
Key Features of the Omniture Recommendations Solution Include:
- Automated Recommendations -- Automate recommendations and eliminate the need for costly and time-intensive manual approaches
- Marketer Managed Algorithms -- Select from pre-built algorithms and easily configure parameters to manage results
- Online Analytics Integration -- Algorithms offer even more relevant recommendations as they "learn" from Web and other online metrics
- Built-in Testing -- Test recommendation performance and optimize in real-time
- Deployment Across Online Marketing Channels -- Provide and test recommendations via any online marketing channel such as Web, email or mobile
"Omniture Recommendations allows us to swiftly test and optimize our recommendations in order to derive maximum lift from our campaigns," said Liz Nakamoto, lead business architect at StubHub.com. "Its integration with third-party email applications enables us to extend recommendations beyond the onsite experience to interact appropriately with our users across multiple channels."
"Omniture Recommendations eliminates the time- and resource-intensive complexity of manual cross-selling that many eCommerce sites and online publishers utilize today," said Brett Error, chief technology officer and executive vice president of products at Omniture. "Using our automated recommendations engine powered by real-time affinity algorithms, online marketers can present the right products and content to the right customers at the right time, improving the relevance and personalization of their user interactions across multiple channels."
