Proxim Wireless: Proxim Wireless Demonstrates 4.9GHz Radio for Security and Surveillance at Futurecom 2009 in Brazil

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL--(Marketwire - October 13, 2009) - Proxim Wireless Corporation (OTCQX: [ PRXM ]) (PINKSHEETS: [ PRXM ]), a leading provider of end-to-end broadband wireless systems that deliver the quadruple play, today announced that it is providing a live product demonstration focused on wireless video surveillance at the Futurecom 2009 conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil from October 13-16. Also on display will be Proxim's 4G product portfolio focused on service provider, enterprise, and Digital Cities applications.

Proxim's Tsunami™ product lines are the first point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) radios approved to support the 4.9GHz frequency in Brazil. Those products have been deployed around the world to backhaul CCTV cameras in public safety deployments. Proxim's 2.4GHz and 5.15-5.85GHz products have also been deployed in applications, including traffic light synchronization, IPTV, mobile video surveillance, wireless backhaul, public access, broadband wireless access (BWA) and VoIP and are ideal for Digital City projects throughout Brazil.

In addition to frequency band leadership, Proxim's products continue to demonstrate capacity leadership with true 4G wireless products. With the introduction of the Tsunami QB-8100 point-to-point wireless backhaul and MP-8100 point-to-multipoint connectivity products in July, Proxim's products now provide 200Mbps throughput -- up to eight times the capacity of existing WiMAX products -- with non-line-of-sight (NLOS) functionality for even greater VoIP and video application support like HDTV.
