MATECH Corp.: MATECH and Northrop Grumman in Discussions to Perform EFS Testing on a New York City Bridge
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - MATECH Corp. (
The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT or DOT) is responsible for the management of much of New York City's transportation infrastructure. The department's responsibilities include the maintenance of the city's streets, highways, bridges and sidewalks.
The significant bridge project will be performed by MATECH and an EFS service provider on the East Coast and is intended to verify that some recent repairs have effectively halted any further crack growth in the repaired elements, and will examine some similar construction details for fatigue crack presence.
MATECH and leading global corporation Northrop Grumman are working to help secure the nation's infrastructure and save bridge owners money by avoiding unnecessary and ineffective repairs. Currently, MATECH and Northrop Grumman are in discussions with several civil engineering firms, which are expected to result in significant project contracts.
"We are very pleased to be in close discussions with the New York City Department of Transportation regarding such a substantial contract," said Robert Bernstein, CEO of MATECH. "We look forward to working closely with the New York City Department of Transportation on helping to secure the city's infrastructure. We will continue to keep shareholders abreast of these developments as they occur."
