MONTREAL--(Marketwire - July 8, 2009) - Superclick, Inc. (OTCBB: [ SPCK ]), a technology leader in IP infrastructure management solutions to the hospitality industry announced that it has certified its market leading SIMS platform solution for hotels on IBM's BladeCenter HS22.

IBM's BladeCenter HS22, which is a blade-based server for highly converged networks is a natural fit for us, given the increasing complexity of the data center environment in the hotel. In addition, it will allow Superclick to better service larger hotels with a more robust and reliable solution."

Reducing Energy Costs

According to a recent white paper from the Robert Frances Group, the total power generated by individual computer platforms has grown by more than 100 watts and with system power consumption increases to more than 300 watts per server.

Natale said, "The BladeCenter enables multiple applications that used to reside on separate services to be centralized onto one unit. The blades can share storage, network and other functionality so that the server requires less energy to run."

Energy Saving Features

 -- Low-voltage processors use less energy and produce less waste heat than higher-voltage processors, thereby reducing data center energy costs -- Optional solid state drives use only 2W of energy per drive, vs. 9-10W for 2.5 inch HDDs. This is as much as 80% less energy than a HDD would use -- The high degree of integration can greatly reduce the amount of power consumed and heat produced, relative to an equivalent number of 1U servers. This can greatly reduce date center energy costs. -- Most industry standard servers use power suppliers that are between 70- 75% efficient at converting power from AC wall current to the DC power used inside servers. BladeCenter power modules are up to 92% efficient, helping to save more money.
