SAN DIEGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--RF Industries, Ltd. (NASDAQ:RFIL) today announced that its RadioMobile division has received a $76,000 follow-on purchase order to provide IQ Mobile systems to a major California County Fire Agency.

"Successful product testing by the Fire Agency's telecommunications, vehicle maintenance and Information Technology departments led to this second-round product deployment, designed to introduce Agency supervisors and fire chiefs to advanced fire fighting software programs and applications. Successful second phase testing could lead to further orders from this, and other public safety organizations," said Howard Hill, RFI Chief Executive Officer.

Hill also noted that RFI has now repurchased all 200,000 shares of its common stock, as previously announced, under the SEC Rule 10b-18 repurchase plan. Consequently, the Company's Board of Directors approved the repurchase, under this plan, of up to an additional 300,000 shares, in open market or private transactions, at such times and conditions as the Company may deem fit.

Jim Moore, RadioMobile's General Manager, said, "The IQ Mobile is a self-contained equipment package that significantly reduces vehicle cabin crowding and is designed to replace and lock into the existing equipment bay in less than five minutes. The system operates transparently with the Agency's legacy mobile data infrastructure, thereby saving significant equipment training expenses. IQ Mobile provides the Agency with the opportunity to gradually introduce mobile Intel-based computing platforms with Windows applications, including vehicle mapping and messaging, on a state-of-the-art computer system. A software programmable transceiver is included, enabling zero-cost multi-speed data transmission upgrades, supporting migration to broad band or public cellular networks in the future."

RadioMobile, a full turn-key provider of Mobile Data Software, Computing hardware and wireless mobile networking solutions, is known for its ability to maximize its customers' fleet investment, introducing new technologies and applications while minimizing risk, downtime and expense.
