NetApp to Lead Industry Discussion on Ethernet Storage and File System Architecture in February 2009

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--In February, NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP) will present at the Ethernet Technology Summit and the USENIX Conference on File and Storage Technologies (FAST), driving industry discussions around Fibre Channel over Ethernet and file system infrastructure issues such as congestion, troubleshooting, and metadata searches.

Ethernet Technology Summit

Mike McNamara, Product Marketing manager at NetApp, will participate at the Ethernet Technology Summit in a panel discussion titled "How FCoE Will Impact the Data Center." The panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, February 25, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose, California. NetApp will also have a booth, # 3-C, in the Ethernet Alliance Pavilion.

USENIX FAST Conference

NetApp experts will take part in three presentations at the USENIX Conference on File and Storage Technologies: "Understanding Customer Problem Troubleshooting from Storage System Logs," "A Congestion-Aware Network File System," and "Spyglass: Fast, Scalable Metadata Search for Large-Scale Storage Systems." The USENIX FAST Conference will take place February 24 to 27 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco, California. NetApp is the sponsor of the conference reception on February 25.

NetApp Industry Appointments in January

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) recently selected Denise Ridolfo, NetApp's Industry and Standards operations manager, who reports to the CTO office, to the SNIA Europe Board of Directors. She will take an active role in SNIA Europe's Marketing Committee, supporting the development of educational content for European technology initiatives through her strong links to the SNIA forums and initiatives. SNIA Europe works closely with SNIA Worldwide to promote the adoption of open storage architectures, technologies, and services and to provide a strong source of vendor-neutral information to storage and information management professionals throughout EMEA.
