Oracle Database 11g Powers Production Environments
- [ Agenor Technology Limited ] is an independent IT consultancy and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution provider based in the U.K. Agenor selected Oracle Database 11g for its availability and manageability to power ICEflo -- its SaaS solution which helps users reduce the risk of IT systems by enabling them to document and manage every step of an IT upgrade, deployment or migration. ICEflo can help companies save between 10 percent to 20 percent of their costs and efforts in the preparation phase of a change project, and help companies save 20 percent or more of effort during an implementation. Agenor anticipates over 10,000 ICEflo subscribers within five years of its launch.
- The [ Athens International Airport ] initiated operations on March 28th, 2001 marking the onset of a new era for air transport in Greece. Oracle Database 11g and [ Oracle Real Application Clusters ] along with Automatic Storage Management and Clusterware provide the foundation for the airport's central management system as well as its ERP system -- the [ Oracle E-Business Suite ] R11. [ Oracle Active Data Guard ] will also be deployed to offload reporting to previously idle standby systems enabling performance gains across its production environments.

- Switzerland-based i-engineers have extended their universal archive product "health engine" using Oracle Database 11g's DICOM medical imaging feature. The health engine provides a 360-degree patient view in the form of secure electronic health care records that feature relevant patient medical images, and serves an archive for all hospital applications and data generating systems. The health engine solution with the DICOM extension is in use at Spital Netz Bern (a network of Swiss regional hospitals) with several other Swiss hospitals approaching production status as well.
- The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom. Charged with protecting the public and reducing reoffending, NOMS recently upgraded to Oracle Database 11g with the help of Oracle Certified Advantage Partner [ Beyond Systems Limited ]. Users of NOMS experienced an immediate performance improvement of 30 percent, and with over three million offender assessments to manage, [ Oracle Advanced Compression ] was deployed to compress data across production, backup and test systems. In addition, NOMS helps ensure the privacy of offender assessments by implementing data encryption with [ Oracle Advanced Security ].
