Cavium Networks, Inc.: Hitachi Deploys Cavium Networks' NITROX(R) PX Security Adapters in Server Product Line

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2009) - Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: [ CAVM ]), a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, storage, wireless, video and security applications, today announced that Hitachi, Ltd. has integrated the market-leading Cavium Networks' NITROX PX Security Adapters in the recently introduced BladeSymphony® 320 Server family to deliver record crypto performance. Hitachi's BladeSymphony® 320 is a leading-edge highly integrated blade server system used in data centers and enterprises for secure Internet applications.

NITROX Security Processor product line includes four families of security processors including NITROX, NITROX Lite, NITROX II and NITROX PX. These families span in performance from 50 Mbps to 10 Gbps of IPsec, SSL WLAN security, and 1K to 40K RSA OPS. Additionally, these products provide a high degree of flexibility, hardware scalability and software compatibility. The NITROX processors are being used since 2002 by OEMs in a wide range of networking equipment to accelerate security applications including IPsec VPNs, SSL VPNs, web-servers, load balancers, content switches, application firewalls, wireless gateways and routers. All NITROX processors come with extensive software support that includes multiple operating systems, drivers, APIs and protocols. API and Protocol support is provided for OpenSSL and Linux v2.6 IPsec stack.
