SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - July 7, 2009) - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ARUN ]), a global leader in wireless LANs and secure mobility solutions, today announced that Groupe FM Logistic, based Longueil Ste. Marie, France, is using the AirWave Wireless Management Suite (AWMS) to supervise Cisco and Motorola Wi-Fi deployments at warehouses spread across 12 countries. FM2i, Groupe FM Logistic's internal IT organization, conducted an extensive technical evaluation of wireless management applications before selecting the AirWave suite based on its role-based administration of local users, fault and management reporting features, and comprehensive support for different generations of Cisco and Motorola Wi-Fi devices. The AirWave solution was supplied by authorized Aruba partner, Avirnet.

"AWMS with Visual RF is the ideal platform with which to manage a large wireless network -- it's simple to use and brings all the information we need into a single interface," said Damien Pflumio, head of infrastructure projects at FM2i. "Operating a geographically distributed network comprised of many generations of equipment from different manufacturers poses significant operational challenges. Before using the AirWave suite, we had little visibility into the network, and faced the challenge of managing areas with poor coverage and slow user connections. AWMS's suite provided us with the tools to manage our network, and gave us detailed insights into the status of the network. The software is intuitive and easy to use, offers excellent fault correlation and management facilities, and, most importantly, reduces the work of our distributed IT organization."

AWMS offers many key features that are typically missing from vendors' own proprietary management solutions:

-- Management efficiency through improved diagnostics, advanced troubleshooting, and reporting; -- Visibility into the wireless network that enables the Help Desk to resolve problems remotely and efficiently; -- Streamlined performance of routine management tasks such as updating controller configurations and software versions; and -- Support for multiple generations of technology, wireless standards, and vendors through a single console interface.

"Wireless networks often grow organically, forcing enterprises to manage multiple generations of equipment at the same time," said Oriol Brichs, AirWave's European sales manager. "Rip-and-replace is an expensive solution, as is the training and support required to operate multiple element managers. As Groupe FM Logistic discovered, AWMS addresses both issues by extending the useful life of legacy networks while providing a single console view of both old and new networks. And it does so while lowering both capital and operating expenses, making AWMS a welcome solution in today's economy."
