SILICON VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2009) - [ Proxim Wireless Corporation ] (
The End-to-End 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless Enterprise
Proxim's ORiNOCO 802.11n products enable enterprises of all size to finally unwire the wired LAN by providing greater performance than existing Ethernet networks. Proxim's ORiNOCO AP-8000 and AP-800 access points provide the industry's highest performance to date with throughput exceeding 170 Mbps with a single radio and 320 Mbps with a dual radio solution. And when paired with the new ORiNOCO 802.11a/b/g/n USB client adapters, enterprise customers can experience end-to-end throughout performance exceeding 150 Mbps in their 802.11n networks.
The new ORiNOCO 802.11a/b/g/n USB client adapter replaces the ORiNOCO 802.11b/g USB client adapter to take full advantage of the higher performance rates of 802.11n networks. It is also backward compatible with all legacy 802.11a/b/g networks, so it can be seamlessly deployed in enterprises that are still rolling out their 802.11n networks.
"Enterprises of all types and sizes are upgrading their WLANs to 802.11n, a trend that continues to accelerate," said Craig Mathias, a Principal with the wireless and mobile advisory firm Farpoint Group. "Proxim's new 802.11n USB adapter is an easy way to upgrade existing notebooks and many other devices to 802.11n. With this announcement, Proxim now has all the elements to deliver high-performance, high-capacity 802.11n networks capable of handling the growing demands of today's enterprise."
