DALLAS--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Lynn Blodgett ], president and chief executive officer of [ Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. ] (NYSE: ACS), has been named to the Outsourcing Hall of Fame for his lifelong contributions to the industry of outsourcing.

[ The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals ] (IAOP) honored Blodgett at a luncheon ceremony during its annual conference, The 2009 Outsourcing World Summit.

"Lynn has been a guiding force in the business process outsourcing industry, and he has made significant contributions to business and society through his management practice and leadership," said Michael Corbett, IAOP chairman. "Lynn truly represents the very best in our industry and we are honored to induct him into the prestigious Outsourcing Hall of Fame, which is the only one of its kind in the industry."

The Outsourcing Hall of Fame recognizes individuals not only for their contributions to the management practice and industry of outsourcing, but also for their contributions to society at-large through outsourcing. Inductees have demonstrated a unique quality of leadership that allows them to synthesize a new model of business with the obligation to contribute to community-based economic development, support socially-directed investments, educate, and provide development opportunities to all those impacted by IAOP's work.

Blodgett has been with ACS for 13 years, serving in his current role as president and CEO for nearly three years. During this time, he has led ACS' growth to become a $6.4 billion company with 70,000 employees worldwide. Under his stewardship, ACS made significant strides in increasing its global footprint and bolstering its expertise, including adding public transportation vertical capabilities, extending health and human services competencies, extending end-to-end human capital management offerings and strengthening its IT services portfolio. Today, ACS delivers comprehensive business process and information technology solutions to multinational clients in all major industries and supports client operations in 100 countries.

Blodgett is a pioneer in the business process outsourcing (BPO) market. In 1985, he and his brother co-founded Unibase, a data entry company acquired by ACS in 1996. The acquisition expanded ACS' capabilities in the relatively new BPO services arena. ACS created an entire service segment dedicated to delivering superior BPO solutions, and today these services encompass 75 percent of ACS' business.

Blodgett is also an active supporter of the homeless. In 2007, he published a book of his own inspirational photographs entitled "Finding Grace / The Face of America's Homeless," which profiles the humanity and dignity of America's homeless. The book has sold 10,000 copies and won critical acclaim. It has also become the face of major fundraising efforts. "Finding Grace" was co-opted by the United Way of Greater Los Angeles for its HomeWalk event, and was part of fundraising events in New York City, Boston and Dallas. More fundraising events are being planned that will continue to use the book as a marketing tool.

Blodgett donates proceeds from the book to the Finding Grace Initiative, an organization created to assist the homeless. The combined sales of the book and donations have raised $6 million.

"It's a privilege to be recognized by IAOP," Blodgett said. "As an entrepreneur at heart, it's been exciting to be instrumental in the significant growth of this industry. My work at ACS has been rewarding because of our people and our commitment to finding creative solutions for our clients' real-world business challenges. We're touching millions of lives through our clients."
