HILLSBORO, OR--(Marketwire - February 17, 2009) - Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: [ LSCC ]) today announced it will demonstrate new product applications and present five technical papers at the Embedded World Conference, which is held from Tuesday, March 3 through Thursday, March 5 in Nuremberg, Germany. The Lattice exhibit will be located in Hall 10, Stand 524.

Lattice product and application demonstrations will include:

A Low Cost PCI Express Solution

The LatticeECP2M™ PCI Express Development Kit provides a complete hardware/software development environment to accelerate the evaluation of PCI Express technology, get to a known good starting point for a design and then easily transition to design exploration. The Development Kit includes several components for rapid evaluation and system design, including several demos ranging from control plane through data plane applications, drivers, GUI, RTL source for top-level project directories, documentation and an evaluation board.

Implementation of a Cost Effective 32-bit Open Core Soft Microcontroller in an FPGA.

The LatticeMico32™ System is used to implement the LatticeMico32 soft microprocessor and attached peripheral components in a Lattice FPGA. The LatticeMico32 System is based on the Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools (CDT) environment, which is an industry open-source development and application framework for building software. The LatticeMico32 System contains two integrated tools that combine with Lattice's ispLEVER® design tool suite to coordinate the building of an embedded processor system on an FPGA device and writing the software to drive the system.

Advanced Image Preprocessing Video Platform

In conjunction with Helion GmbH, Lattice will present a video processing system that incorporates the award winning LatticeXP2™ non-volatile FPGA with embedded DSP blocks. Additionally, Helion will demonstrate the LatticeECP2M device in their VESTA development platform for LatticeMico32-based image processing functions and interfaces.

Technical Papers to be Presented

In addition to the demonstrations in the Lattice exhibit, five technical papers will be presented by Lattice personnel, including:

March 4 Embedded World Forum Session 2.2: System on Chip 11:00-11:45 "Solutions for PCI Express Systems in Low Cost FPGAs" 1:30-2:00 "Open Source Embedded 32-bit RISC Processor Core for FPGA Applications" 3:15-4:00 "Embedded Programming and Field Update for FPGA" March 5 Embedded World Forum Session 3.7: Debug Methods 10:30-11:00 "Debugging Methods for FPGAs" March 5 Embedded World Forum Session 3.1: Cryptography and Embedded Security 3:00-3:30 "FPGAs for Secure environments"

"Combined, our technical demonstrations and paper presentations will give conference attendees a good understanding of the exciting products and technologies that Lattice will deliver to its customers in 2009," said Gerhard Brueningk, Lattice Area Manager for Central Europe.
