Globecomm Systems Receives a $13.7 Million Service Contract Under a Multi-Year Contract with a Major U.S. Government Prime Cont

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM), a leading provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services on a global basis, announced today that the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Globecomm Services Maryland, has received a one-year service contract from a major U.S. Government prime contractor valued at $13.7 million.

On January 2, 2008, Globecomm announced that it was awarded a service contract renewal from a major U.S. Government prime contractor valued at up to $42.4 million over four years, if all options are exercised, to provide satellite, data, voice and microwave services to several locations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia as well as certain Pacific and Caribbean islands. The scope of work specified that Globecomm would provide fully managed engineering support, teleport services, and equipment, complete with installation and maintenance.

Each option year requires incremental funding and includes additional options to increase the scope of work for both locations and services offerings. This $13.7 million contract has been issued under the previously announced multi-year contract, is fully funded and includes a significant increase in scope over the base contract.
