ATLANTA--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--A.D.A.M., Inc. (NASDAQ: ADAM), a leading provider of health information and benefits technology solutions, today announced that Allied Electronics, a Texas-based distributor of electronic components and electromechanical products, has expanded its use of Benergy™, A.D.A.M.'s award-winning employee benefits and health management platform. Allied Electronics is now providing its benefits-eligible employees access to A.D.A.M.'s Enrollment Services product for online benefits selections.

For the past two years, Allied Electronics has used the Benergy platform for benefits, health and wellness, and HR communications. Adding Enrollment Services now enables the company to collect benefits election data electronically — instead of by paper forms — and more easily report and share such data with insurance carriers and its payroll system.

"We have a diversified employee population in terms of geography and their roles within the company," said Susan Overcash, director of human resources at Allied Electronics. "This places a lot of pressure and responsibility on our human resources team to manage the benefits needs of our employees. Online enrollment allows our employees to enjoy the flexibility of managing their benefits at their convenience, while also reducing the number of employee inquiries and requests for help during the enrollment period; we used it during our recent open enrollment period and saw 99 percent utilization amongst our employees. It added immediate value to our company while alleviating the pressure on our HR team."

Enrollment Services offers Allied Electronics' employees 24-7 online access to personalized information to self-manage many aspects of their lives, including benefits enrollment events. Through this solution, employees can draw side-by-side comparisons of their benefit options and view details of each benefit to help them in making knowledgeable benefits selections. Employees update personal and dependant data, select their benefits and review a confirmation statement, all in one guided process. For the HR department, online enrollment reduces much of the time, expense and errors associated with facilitating annual open enrollment and benefits changes caused by life events.

"Allied Electronics' adoption of Benergy's Enrollment Services product underscores A.D.A.M.'s core strategy to provide a strong return on investment to our clients through effective benefits solutions that ultimately increase employer productivity and reduce administrative costs. Benergy not only provides the framework to automate the task of enrollment, but provides the employee the information and decision support tools they need to make the right benefit decisions for them and their families," said Kevin Noland, president and chief executive officer of A.D.A.M., Inc.
