Astro-Med, Inc.: Astro-Med's Grass Technologies Awarded Contract for Sleep and Neurology Products by Broadlane Inc.

WEST WARWICK, RI--(Marketwire - January 26, 2009) - Astro-Med, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ALOT ]) today announced that its Grass Technologies product group has been awarded a three-year contract from Broadlane Inc., a leading healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) that serves more than 915 acute care hospitals, more than 2,600 sub-acute care facilities and more than 18,000 physician practices. Under the terms of the contract, Astro-Med's Grass Technologies brand [ Sleep Diagnostic (PSG) ] and [ Electroencephalography (EEG) ] systems can be purchased by all Broadlane member organizations. The contract goes into effect on April 1, 2009.

In May 2008, Grass Technologies announced a two-year contract with Premier, a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), for purchasing of Grass® sleep diagnostic systems.

Grass Technologies, an Astro-Med, Inc. Product Group, has designed, manufactured, and sold PSG, EEG, and other neurophysiological monitoring systems for use by hospitals and labs around the world since 1935.
