Red Hat Named Public Company of the Year by North Carolina TechnologyAssociation

RALEIGH, N.C.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced it has been awarded Public Company of the Year by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) in its 2008 NCTA 21 Awards. Companies nominated for this award were evaluated based on sustained growth, solid operating results and stock price appreciation. Red Hat was selected from a finalist pool that included Goodrich Corporation, Lenovo and Tekelec.

The NCTA 21 Awards are among North Carolina's most prestigious statewide technology awards, honoring companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership in the technology industry. This year marked NCTA's 15th annual awards gala and the competition included an impressive field of North Carolina-based companies across 21 award categories. NCTA is a statewide leadership organization that represents the technology industry and connects business decision makers, educates government officials on issues relevant to the technology industry and provides educational and executive networking events.
