REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - November 25, 2008) - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: [ INFA ]), the leading independent provider of data integration software and services, today announced the global launch of [ The Informatica Technology Network ], a new online community open to data integration and data quality technology professionals around the globe. Built from the ground up to stimulate participants' contributions, Informatica Technology Network (TechNet) is the next generation of the Informatica Developer Network, comprised of a rapidly growing member community of nearly 45,000. The community provides an inclusive, independent and interactive forum for sharing data integration knowledge, showcasing solutions, impacting technology trends and developing cutting-edge skills.

"Informatica TechNet is all about being open -- open to all data integration practitioners, open to interactive participation and open to wide-ranging member-generated content," said Chris Boorman, chief marketing officer, Informatica. "Professionals, whether they are third-party solution providers or Informatica customers, partners, prospects and beyond can leverage TechNet to help solve technical challenges, spotlight their work, seek out career opportunities and network with other skilled individuals. If you have something valuable to share and/or have the desire to learn, you'll find the Informatica Technology Network the nexus for data integration expertise and advancement."

Informatica TechNet builds upon nearly 45,000 active users from the Informatica Developer Network community, while taking that highly successful program to a much more inclusive and interactive level. Data integration practitioners are encouraged and helped to participate through an infrastructure that supports the design and execution of community member-generated content. Individuals are able to post documentation and data integration mappings and transformations, join discussion forums, and openly share experiences, tips and best practices. In addition to adding content, Informatica Technology Network community members can also comment on various content types, create links to each other, monitor activity and presence, and join sub-communities.

"The new Informatica Technology Network is much more than just an enhancement of the previous Developer Network; it is an entirely new paradigm around soliciting and sharing information and encouraging interaction across the industry," said Debbie O'Mara, owner and consultant, DataByte Design. "Informatica's market leadership is itself a membership draw, as is the openness and vendor-neutrality of its software solutions and its vast partner program. We at DataByte Design are enthusiastic early contributors because of what we get back in terms of knowledge, skills and industry recognition. Now that TechNet is fully launched and global, it can only continue to grow in value."

In addition to its interactive community features, Informatica TechNet encompasses a full online technical library pertaining to data integration and data quality solutions. It also supports member downloading of Informatica Software Development Kits, custom data transformations, starter kits and product documentation. Informatica TechNet will continue to add new features to enable professionals to have an enhanced value-driven user experience, including offering education and training services and the ability to take part in topical polls and questionnaires with published results available for discussion.

Boorman concluded, "Intelligent people reside everywhere -- inside and outside of our company, across all regions, and across all vertical industries. With the collective brainpower on the Informatica TechNet, we are able to take advantage of resources outside of just our four walls, and this truly benefits the industry and ultimately our customers."
