AboveNet Helps Customers Get Connected at Switch and Datas New NorthBergen, NJ Data Center

TAMPA, Fla.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Switch and Data (NASDAQ: SDXC), a leading provider of network neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, announced today that AboveNet, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: ABVT), a leading provider of fiber optic connectivity solutions, is offering a full suite of high-bandwidth Ethernet, IP and fiber data transport services to customers in Switch and Data's new North Bergen, NJ data center. AboveNet is able to provide solutions to Switch and Data's customers that range from simple IP transit and Ethernet metro connectivity, to a high-bandwidth, low latency solution that connects a customer's North Bergen expansion to its existing infrastructure, to create a seamless, virtual data center spanning multiple locations.

The New York metro region has experienced high customer demand for data center and Internet exchange services. Many existing facilities have limited space or power available to support customer growth. AboveNet has invested heavily in fiber optic connectivity in and between data center facilities to support its customers' IT virtualization plans. These services allow a company to deploy infrastructure at a new high-capacity site, like Switch and Data's 163,000 gross square foot North Bergen site, and connect it back to existing facilities to create one virtual infrastructure, with the space and power to support IT infrastructure growth.
