REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--PureDepth, Inc. ([ OTC: PDEP ]) a global leader in next-generation display technologies and the pioneer of Multi-Layer Display (MLDTM) technology, announced today that the first Pachislot gaming machines featuring PureDepth's MLD™ technology have been launched nationwide in Japan. The market availability of the MLD™-enabled "Onihama" machine was announced by Abilit Corporation, a customer of SANYO Electric System Solutions, subsidiary company of SANYO Electric Co. LTD (NASDAQ: SANYY), which licenses PureDepth technology.

"We are delighted to have partnered with Sanyo Electric and to see the introduction of our patented MLD™ (Multi-Layer Display) technology in Pachislot gaming machines with their customer Abilit Corporation," said Andy Wood, CEO of PureDepth, Inc. "The introduction into this market expands the application of our proprietary MLD™ platform and confirms its continued acceptance in the visual display industry."

"The introduction of the industry's first Pachislot machine utilizing PureDepth's technology by Abilit Corporation is a clear validation of the strength of MLD™ technology, and its ability to provide a new and compelling experience to the gaming market," Tsutomu Fujita, Division Manager of SANYO Electric System Solutions. "Onihama's rich story-line and action maximized the dramatic effects and features of MLD™ technology. We are convinced that this machine will be a tremendous hit."

The new machines are a result of PureDepth's agreement with a subsidiary of SANYO Electric to incorporate PureDepth's MLDTM Technology into SANYO's amusement gaming platforms in Japan. The agreement between PureDepth and SANYO focuses exclusively on SANYO's location-based entertainment Pachinko and Pachislot gaming machines and provides PureDepth with a royalty on MLD™-equipped units sold.

The launch by Abilit of PureDepth's technology in Japan follows closely on the heels of the successful market launch of MLD™-equipped gaming machines by IGT, a U.S. leader in gaming equipment. IGT's use of PureDepth technology in its REELdepth™ line of slot machines provides PureDepth with a strong foothold in major gaming platforms in both the U.S. and Asia. IGT will display its new family of REELdepth™ games using PureDepth's MLD™ technology at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, November 18-20.
