U.S. Patent on Synchronization of Records During Application Execution Issued to TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.
ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - May 11, 2010) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (
This TCS invention describes a system and methods for the synchronization between databases resident on a handheld wireless device and a host computer, while an application program is running on the handheld device. This allows handheld device application developers to control when synchronization occurs by using simple synchronization commands within the application code, and removes the need for the application user to initiate the synchronization loop, improving both data integrity and efficiency.
"Conventional 'all or nothing' database reconciliation processes for handheld devices can be inefficient," said Drew Morin, chief technology officer of TCS. "This invention allows real-time, event-driven synchronization that gives the application developer a powerful tool to improve the overall performance of the handheld/host computer system."
TCS now holds 113 patents with over 300 applications pending. To learn more about TCS patents, please visit: [ http://www.telecomsys.com/about/ip-licensing/patents.aspx ]
